Final Blog

I felt more connected to the charities after we visited, and have a better understanding of what they’re about. I will most likely work with a charity in the future.

I enjoyed when Chris came in with “Winky” and introduced the Raptor Trust, I liked getting to know him and working with him for the fundraiser. I thought it was very interesting and successful. I think I am most likely to give my time and/or resources to helping a charity or fundraiser in the future.

I interviewed my father
I learned about my dad’s life growing up
I learned about what he values and he believes is important
About how he handled money throughout his life
It made me think differently of my dad and his past experiences

Interview

1.I interviewed my dad
2.Three things I learned was that he volunteered at Community food bank of NJ,
He Enjoys donating to charities, and wants to fix hunger in the world
3.The interview made me more aware about the problems in this world

Interview

I interviewed my mom, and learned that she was sick a lot as a kid, which inspired her to become a nurse later in life. I also learned that she spent a lot of time working as a young adult and prefers to save her money. This interview was interesting to me because I don’t usually her about my moms life before college.

Interview Results

I interviewed my Best friend Cassidy. I learned that she supports animals and wants to help them.
She’s multiracial and racism is an issue she would like to fix because she has personally experienced this and seen many people get affected by it. I learned that she thinks believes people at a young age should learn to give and share what they have. The interview didn’t really change me but it made me connect more to my friend and understand what she truly cares about.

Ms Landis.

1) cares about her students

2) hard working

3) made me a harder worker and care more about school and my grades.

Fundraiser udpate

We still have not made any money from our family or teachers. Although we have stayed in touch with our charity to ask questions about what they need from us, which is money for their microscopes to study bird health. Speaking to Chris Solcy has helped us understand what they need from us. We should continue to work in collaboration with the charity since they have given us a good understanding of their organization and what our role is in the process.

We made more money for the fundraiser.WE have been raising money progressively through out the week nd have managed to increase the amount we have. WE have drawn the winner for the baked goods basket. We have to count our total amount. But yeah this pretty much concludes our fundraising efforts.

Group update

Thus far our group has not raised any money. However, we have stayed in touch with each other and the Raptor Trust. Speaking to the charity was helpful since we have gained a good understanding of our purpose and how it benefits the charity. We should continue to stay in touch with the charity since they have helped us learn more about the Raptor Trust and how we can help.
