Week 2

I learned that the majority of my classmates enjoys listening to music, friends and their team. This doesn’t come as much of a shock to me because, this community is very small and so close together that everyone values their time with their teammates and friends.

My group or team will be having a 90/70 raffle at the home wrestling matches. Also, we will be selling Seroogy chocolate candy bars that are a $1.50/piece until February.

After telling my sister Cassidy, who is a Junior at St. Norbert College, she responded by telling me that her minor in college is Leadership studies after I told her what the whole Leadership class was about. She proceeded to ask me who taught the class and that the class along with what we are doing in the Main Street Philanthropy part of the course positively reflects us and the community that we live in.

Week 1 – Make a Difference Cards

I really enjoyed the “Making a difference” cards. I realized that I believe that health, and health research, along with the protection and awareness of environmental issues and preservation is the most important support group to my personality. This shows me that I value the world and environment that I live in as well as the well-being and comfort of others that I interact with each day. Throughout this course, I am hoping that I increase my social, communication and leadership skills in order to be a better candidate for jobs in the workforce. Also, I plan on understanding what differentiates a good from a bad charity. I am very excited to develop and learn new skills throughout this twelve weeks.
