week 3

My group and I are selling coffee, and we are going to use the money we make to help Family Promise purchase things they need. Some things they need are toilet paper, laundry detergent, and food. I called my organization and they never answered, so I emailed them. I am currently waiting for a response. One of our group members called their organization and they are coming in on March 14th or the 21st.

week 2

From the brown paper bag activity, I learned that my team members and I all like animals in a way. We all have dogs, and that is what we are trying to raise money for. We are going to do baked goods and coffee sale. I told my mom, my dad, and my sister about main street philanthropy. My mom said she did something like that in high school, my dad said he would give me some money for donations, and so did my sister.

Describe your experience using the mad cards? What did you learn about yourself? What did you learn about others?

I learned that the mad cards helped me pick what I like and things I want to do in the future.

What do you hope to gain from participating in the Main street philanthropy program?

I hope to learn more about children and how to help them when they are growing up.
